This is not a benchmarking article (Sorry ;) ), but instead a detailed and easy to follow look at AMD's "Hammer" architecture vs Intel's "Core" architecture, that will be released shortly, along with the older K7 and Netburst and Pentium M designs.
I'll admit that it made more sense to me than .Arstechnica's very thorough breakdown of the "Core" design that compares across every generation of Intel's CPUs (Which is linked in a older thread). After reading the analysis of the Core's memory subsystem compared to the Hammer's, I think Core will be living up to it's high expectations... and that's not mentioning the other pages detailing it's advantages with some real numbers.
I'd quote a few passages, but there are simply to many that detail the "whys" behind Core's performance gains.
