View Full Version : Woohoo!!! Just bought a 7800GTX!!!

Hi guys!!!

I just bought yesterday a "used" 7800GTX Video Card.

It's a MSI NX7800GTX VIVO 256MB and I got it for $260!!!

I decided to buy a "stronger" card than my XFX 6800GS (which I won here at Bjorn3D!!!), since I felt that the 6800GS was a little bit "weak" when playing "Condemned" and "Tomb Raider: Legend" when ALL Video Settings were set to MAXIMUM and playing at a resolution of 1280x1024!!!

I guess I'll have to sell now my 6800GS...:rolleyes:

Oh...I also managed to overclock it already (hehehe) to 470/1300 (from 430/1200 stock).

Temps seem to be a bit high, but I guess it's still OK:
Idling at 50C and reaching 81C on MAXIMUM LOAD (after running "rthdribl Graphic Card Heat Test" for over 1 hour!)

Sweet card! It happens to be the very card that I am using in my current build, just waiting for the arrival of the last component, and I'm good to go ;)

Nice to see that it OC's well, but I doubt that I will OC it... I don't really want to risk stability for the sake of a few extra fps, but I might OC it just for kicks down the road...

From what I've read about temps, that's about what most og the 7800GTX with air cooling...........;)

Thanks...I guessed these are normal temps (if you can call 80C normal ;) ).

Nice once zachig; high temps like that are normal these days. Mine idles at 38c and maxes out at 51c. Gotta love homemade PCI card coolers :D

I just got my Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI board and I will soon start building my new system with the 7800GT i won over here at Bjorn3D!

So expect some pictures and benchmarks soon :)

Great card you just bought Zachig! Congrats! 6800GS isnt weak neither...but this one is much better for sure...:mrgreen: ;)

And yes, please do post some benchmark results ASAP...:cool: :-D
