You knew the comparisons were going to be inevitable. Now that we've gotten our mitts on both next-gen consoles' motion-sensing input devices, Nintendo's Wii controller and Sony's PlayStation 3 controller have to go head to head. That's just the way of the world; who are we to question these two born adversaries, destined to square off in a no-holds barred peripheral deathmatch. So, what did we think? Well, you should already have a pretty good idea of how we feel about the Wiimote. But what's up with the PlayStation 3 controller? Two controllers enter, one controller leaves.

pfft its so obvious the ps3 controller wins, play station controllers have always been the best and always will be, the wii controller sucks!!!! ps3s rocks!!! to put it in simple words, even though the motion sensing on the wii is better the overall performance makes the ps3 controller the winner, and sony will definietly make the motion sensing on the ps3 controller better

I have to give some props to Nintendo for being inovative and making a new and unique controller as the PS3 controller is just the PS2 controller but with that motion sensing feature.

The "Wiimote" plugs into the Nintendo gun, which has it's own joystick and other parts.
And as of right now it still looks like only the Wii controller will be "self-aware" as to it's location relative to the tv. The PS3 controller is only able to pick up motion, at least for the moment. That's a big difference in terms of gaming possibilities... there was one article someplace that enumerated on this very detail very well...
