I don’t know why the fan would perform so poorly, there was no visible damage, no vibrations, and it seems to spin freely. The rest of the cooler is so obviously an excellent design. If the cooler came with a better fan, and stayed at the same price point, I would say it would be better than coolers more than twice the price. If you want to take the time to switch the fan out (I would suggest testing it first, in case this was just a quality control flaw), then you won’t be disappointed. I can’t really recommend the cooler for most people though. Loud noise is a real killer.
