GRAW isn't a killer app for this card and it seems Cell Factor isn't either. Ithough you need a PhysX card to runt the demo? I am gaonna give it a try then.

testing Cell Factor with and without PPU, Take note of the last 2 screen shots, practically the same explosion/debris and also exactly the same FPS with the PPU either on or off.

if i want to watch flying debris ill just blow up stuff and go into a war zone, this technology will not really be widely used until 2 or more years when flying debris becomes a mainstream part of video games.

flying debris is just bling in a game. It doesn't make a good game.

by no means was i disrespecting the card, but im just saying for the time being its not a necessity more than just the icing on cake, whoever buys one now just is an enthusiast or can afford it, but as i said before, it will become mainstream by 2008 when most video games will support physics actions ie. flying debris, just for now, i dont know about you guys but IMHo i really dont care about flying debris close-range for now, but eventually as i want more detailed games ill care for the card a bit more

I care about all that stuff BECAUSE I LOVE TO BLOW THINGS UP! And i'd love it if valve waited year and a half to make half life 2 and made the physics in it 100x better with this card :D! Oh well though. I am getting a new computer in July I guess and I was gonna get one of these.. but I guess i'll just wait till it's way cheaper.

A year and a half???, are you crazy??? HL2 was sweet and the physics was good. I game with lots of crap to blow up doesn't make a good game ;)

Well I thought they should have waited and made it better D: It is good but I wish physics were alot more smooth :(

its no surprise that its not so smooth since its the first physics card of PPU ever made, but as i said it will evolve :)

A faster card will make it smoother. HL2 isn't all about the physics. Who care about cool physics if a game sucks?

exactly and said in simplest terms

I agree too...who cares about physics if gameplay sucks and you just dont like the game otherwise....no physics card will ever be able to change this...and if it will...then its manufacturer will surely more than deserve a Nobel Prize for special achievements....(to dynamically change gameplay on the go)....   :p ;)

lol seeing things fly past you isnt going to make your game better, now if it actually hit you and injured you thatd be omething :)

YES! Hahaha...that would be something! So all we need is some high tech Hollywood 3D studio with some special machines to throw those rocks (and grenades maybe?  ) @ us....depending from what game we chose to play... ;)

mousiness

then first person shooters would be so much more challenging and fun too!!! it would be just like real life and if that were the case id be picking up one of those physics cards right now!!!!

Johnie
05-25-2006, 03:30 AM
...yes but in that case....would you really dare to play a game where you could potentially die for real? :???:    ;) Neither would I....but then again....some people surely would...

...why not joining them then and serve the country..it's a very honorable job...but nahhhhhhhhh...not army...lets rather join Intel...and we'll be able to play all the latest games on Conroe's...  ;)

You guys really take a topic off track eh?

Johnie
05-25-2006, 05:14 AM
We didnt take it off track....we were just talking about CELL FACTOR with AGEIA and CONROE...that would surely be a deadly combination...with debris flying all over our rooms...hahahahhaha...  ;)

yepyepyep agreed, and plus i like having offtopic fun on forums, especially with so many funny and nice people here at bjorn3d, and at least that has SOMETHING far far away to do with the physx card
