I mainly got this card so I can use the RGB output to watch tv recorded on my PC on a HDTV. It was fine for the first few times but now Ive totally lost the blue channel there is no blue color at all. Its definately not the cables or the tv etc so its either the video card or the y cable.

Any ideas on what could be causing it?

I'm hoping if I can get a replacement Y cable that should fix it. Its not a driver issue either as the BIOS symbol when I first turn it on is also missing blue.

Not sure but I will forward the thread to XFX tech support if they do not see it this weekend.

Thanks, I did contact them but haven't heard back yet
Was just wondering if it was a common issue, the pins all seem to be ok

The missing colour is usually attributed to a short or defect in the cabling. You ststed that you have tested them so it may be that the port is failing. Though this is unusual it does happen from time to time. Please try the TV with another card or source to make sure the TV inputs is ok then try the card with another cable. This will determin the source for the fault. If the card is at fault then please add to your support thread the testing you have done and the support team will help you get the card serviced.

The cables were the first thing I tested, I tried 2 different sets and they both did the same thing. So next I tested my Xbox Component outputs on my TV with the same cables and its 100% fine.

I have posted a tech support thread but because I got my card off ebay and not a proper supplier I dont think they will help me :???:

...you might be out of luck then, Krushull.... unless the seller off of e-bay provided you with a sales receipt of some sort, a replacement card might be hard to come by.... sorry to hear about your woes, as I've had nothing but great luck with e-bay ;)

Dear Sir,
If the previous owner registered the card and you are the second owner then you have no worries. Please register the card under your name and we will happily grant you a lifetime warranty on this product. WE offer a double lifetime to new products which mean that the owner of a new product gets a lifetime and then the second owner gets a similar lifetime warranty. In this case you are the second owner of the card. Please keep the support team up to date with your testing and observations so they can effectivly assist you.

I registered the card myself as it was brand new in the box
He got it for christmas so had no receipt
I have reg'd the serial number etc but still waiting to hear back from the support techs..

I think I will just buy a new Y cable and see how that goes... can I just buy any component out 9 pin cable or do they vary per brand? I can only find ATi ones for sale :/

I have tested all cables and the TV, except for the Y cable, and they all work 100%. I have formatted and tried different drivers. Next thing I want to try is another Y cable but they seem hard to find. If that fails though it is the actual card.

Support has been good and I appreciate it but I haven't gotten anywhere at all...

Dear Krushull,
The fact that you now have a blacka white display is actually a good thing. This means that the card is detecting your TV and trying to send a signal. This sounds as if you have the wrong cable and in need of the HDTV dongle used for HD TV's. Please use your support ticket to request the HDTV dongle for the proper connection an signa, and we would be happy to send you one.

If its the cables it has to be the Y cable. I had been using the HDTV output on my TV for like 2 months before this started occuring and it was 100% perfect. I havent changed any cables at all, one day it had just lost blue and now wont even let me choose HDTV out. I'm using the y cable that came with my video card. I want to try another y cable but I cannot find a replacement... thus I have been asking where I can get one.

Dear Krushull,
Please visit the following link: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp. First, select "Graphics Driver", then "Geforce and TNT 2" and finally your operating system, which will take you to the download page. Scroll to the bottom and click on Display Properties User's Guide (Release 80). Once you have DL the PDF then refer to pages 70-90 for setting up your TV. Also please make sure to set the output to PAL for your region.

I think were losing track of problem at hand here. I've had this working perfectly for about a month and then oneday without making any changes to anything I lost the blue channel. I've managed to get my HDTV selections back but now I've still lost the blue channel, the green channel is black and white and the red channel is still working. If I unplug the red I get black and white if I unplug the blue nothing changes and if I unplug the green I get a really red image.

I am an IT tech myself so trust me ive exhausted all troubleshooting and am pretty adept in playing with the nvidia control panel. So I'm still stuck with no HDTV out and my only option is to purchase a DVI/VGA to component transcoder thats going to cost me $200...

Dear Krushull, This may seem redundant but please make sure to check the format to the TV as PAL or NTSC can also cause the Black and white problem. Your providor may also have implemented some new protocols so please contact them for any information about the formatting they are using.

My TV takes both NTSC and PAL as I switch my modded xbox between the two all the time. Plus I have been through every single format and theres no difference PLUS its not black and white anymore its red. I'm 99.9% sure its an issue with the 9pin HDTV output cable at this point. My provider?? What do you mean this picture is coming from Windows XP and my PC before windows xp even loads?? I used this setup fine for 2 months and no formats or anything has been changed.

Ok look this has been going for ages now if you guys are not going to help me out let me know because I'm sick of waiting and I'll just buy a new 9pin HDTV out cable from overseas and if that doesn't work ill sell this peice of junk as the HDTV output was my main reason for buying this card over any others in the first place.

Its been a month since I sent my address and still nothing and no replies from support :(

Is it possible to buy one from somewhere? I'de rather just pay the $$ than leave my HTPC sitting around doing nothing.

Dear Krushull, I am truly sorry this is happening to you. I have looked into this and it seems as if we are having difficulties in shipping to your country from the US. I am looking into having one sent from a region closer to you.
