Hi there,

I have Cyberlink Power DVD Deluxe 7, an Nvidia XFX 7300 GS graphics card,
Nvidia purevideo platinum software and the latest nvidia driver but I am
getting no gpu acceleration when playing back 1080 H.264.

I have also tried a trial version of Nero with no success.

Help please as this is the reason why I bought all of the above!

Regards
James

P.s I will post this in both the Nvidia and XFX forum as I am not sure which is most relevant.

I do not believe either of those programs offer GPU H.264 Acceleration.

To get H.264 Acceleration with your nVidia card you must use NVIDIA® PureVideo. More info is here http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo.html (http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo.html). Your video card should have come with this program, but if not you can try this... http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html (http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html) which is basically a PureVideo plug-in for Windows Media Player.

I have installed that along with the latest forceware driver and a supported h.264 player as listed here http://uk.nzone.nvidia.com/object/nzone_purevideo_requirements_uk.html

And that is not working? Keep in mind that GPU acceleration won't take much of a load off of your CPU, it only helps a little.

It definitely makes 0% difference to the CPU. There are a lot of people who are having a similar problem and Nvidia seems to be ignoring them so i thought I might get a bit more support from the people who made my card, sure enough this is the first forum response I have had! Nvidia and Cyberlink have ignored me.

Well I checked and your card is listed as having GPU acceleration under PureVideo. What CPU is this and are you running the latest driver package from XFX/nVidia? I'm running out of ideas... ;)
