www.xfxforce.com => support=> help desk.

All good and well Mister XFX Support but I haven't got my question answered in more than 2 days, then I got an answer but totally not relevant to my last 2 questions I added to the original and now I had to wait 2 days again until I decided to write something together for you up here.

I expect someone working at XFX, reading my typical 7900GT Problem Query, not to come up with the idea to reinstall FEAR when it also shows up in 3DMark06, so yeah. :???:

This ViVo 520M Xtreme of mine started failing after 3-4 days. Now that's one thing but leaving me in the dark on how to fix this problem as in getting a new one for example.

And I do not want to, for example, RMA this card and get a another faulty card in return. I want XFX to make sure that the card they send me, running at 520/1500 and not a mini megahertz less (I paid for that), is working properly without problems for at least 3 years (which I expect from XFX Products, like my XFX 6600GT).

Needless to say, I'm quite dissapointed in XFX, being their customer for more than 7 years now, I am also surprised by this issue. But no worries, if this can be all rectified fast and without funny business, everything is a-ok.

Regards,

A concerned XFX customer.

The pre-overclocked 7900GT cards from XFX, BFG, and eVGA are plagued with this heat problem but it isn't their faults, its nVidia's fault and nVidia has came up with a fix yet and probably won't.

SomeThis heat issuse can be "fixed" by attaching a small heatsink to the backside of the card where the voltage regulators are.

Thanks for the reply but I do want to make a few things clear:

I have already tried this and seeing that my case has about 5 120mm Fans blowing on full speed plus the added heatsinks, you would think this makes it go away, but no.
I've read lots of reports of non-overclocked cards failing just like mine and not only the ones you mention! Asus, Gainward and the sorts have the same problems.
And back to the Heatsinks: I don't care whether they help or whether downclocking the card helps, I want a videocard, from XFX, completely working out of the box running at 520 MHz and 1500 MHz. I waited 11 weeks for that thing to arrive.

Ok chances are you are out of luck as I said before there are alot of 7900GT cards that have problems with no fix.

Hmmm it's ok, thanks for your input. I'll wait now for someone of the XFX Techsupport to come along and give me some more information on how to get a new one for example.

Ok so I have a new 7900GT coming to me tommorow or the day after tommorow via D.O.A. When it works, it's all good, when it does not, it's the last XFX product I have bought and will not return to NVIDIA until G80.

I shall buy a X1800XT 512 then when the 2nd one does not work.

That sucks.
I'm pretty sure your new card will work but then again a lot of the times its not a company's fault.
Its bad luck.

I already ordered my x1800xt, should be getting it tomorrow or Wednesday. But I still want a replacement card for the faulty 7900GT. I spent $310 for God's sakes, and XFX support won't even answer me!!!!! :paw:
