Johnie
06-07-2006, 12:09 AM
And you forgot to mention that Scott gets those 200FPS @ 2048x1536 with HDR+AA enabled...or maybe @ even higher resolution....hahahahaha...he is really one lucky guy with great rig... :-D

So at more normal 1280 or 1024 resolution....he probably get 1K+ FPS...    :paw:

He may kill us all there with one shoot...hahahaha...so I rather give up now than to have headaches later....

mousiness
06-07-2006, 12:17 AM
he gets 200fps at highest resolution while i get barely 20-30fps at 800x600 LOL

Johnie
06-07-2006, 12:27 AM

pffft scotts rig easily over 5k, ive considered buying a dual-core and a new video card BUT, in 6 months ill be getting a new way better rig and that moeny should be spent on a new rig than upgfrading a lame 915G mobo:(

Both of you seem to think that if a person has a fast rig that they will own.

Johnie
06-07-2006, 01:02 AM
LOOL...well..just being curious...thats all...

EDIT : NO NO and NO...I can tell you from my point of you that I was joking about that...come on...better FPS never gave any advantage...and I know that very well...maybe it could give you some advantage if the other person would get only some 10-20FPS...there it would surely make a difference...but otherwise...no way...and I guess mousiness knows that very well too.... ;-)

Well for a couple of K you can buy my nForce 4 mobo, FX 60, 2GB RAM and a pair of 7800 GTX 512MB's.

Johnie
06-07-2006, 03:29 AM

I was wondering what you were going to do with those...

With all the slashing of Intel CPU prices and Conroe almost here I'm holding out though... Even AMD is going to slash their own prices, amazingly...

Actually I have only sold 3 parts in my 8 years at Bjorn3D. I just keep upgrading my machine, then build another machine with the old parts and hand it down to one of the kids or my wife. My attic is full of cases and old machines. Some are old ones are running as a domain controller and exchange server on my network.

Heck in the my draw next to me I still have a GeForce 2 Ultra, the now Famous GeForce 5800 Ultra (Dustbuster) which was not that bad since I have a Leadtek version, the changed out the cooling solution. On the shelf I have a 5900 Ultra, 6800GT, 6800 Ultra and now a pair of 7800GTX 512MBs. I will use them as single cards as I upgrade machine around here to PCI-E.

send that awesome FX60 setup to me then scott:). I think one of these day, we could actually auction off scott's "junk" and donate the money to charity.

Scott
06-07-2006, 07:58 PM

mousiness
06-07-2006, 10:07 PM
youre kidding me right? please scott offer me a full rig for a price and gimme that price

Scott
06-07-2006, 10:24 PM
Well for 2500. I could put it in a CoolerMaster Wave case, give you an Antec 550Watt power supply, a 250GB Maxtor, a DVD Burner and a floppy. Still would need an OS so you could decide on which one you want and pay for it and I would install it.

You have to remember these parts have value to me because I could build this above machine and upgrade one of my kids nForce 2 or nForce 3 system with it.

Scott
06-07-2006, 10:26 PM
sure, I will have 2k for you, do you take personal check:)

Check comes to me, clears the bank and I send you the parts. That works for me. Since you work for me you know I will take care of you.

mousiness
06-07-2006, 10:27 PM
lol awwww oh well same price as building a new slightly less powerful rig meh, imagina your kid with an fx-60 and 7800GTX SLI whoa

Scott
06-07-2006, 11:24 PM
Well my 7 year old has an FX-51, 2 GB of RAM, 2 WD RAPTORS in RAID 0 and a 7800GS. So he is not doing to shabby. But he would get the new machine and move his to my 13 year old daughter.

You need any more kids Scott, I'm willing to be adopted............;)

Victor
06-08-2006, 01:10 AM
MAN, scott, you have spoiled your kids. they got system that's faster than a lot of super gamers:). Care to adopt me, I am free for adoption. I can be kid's older bro:).

I am doing more or less like scott, but I don't have kids, it's my sister who's getting the low end of the system.:) I always pass it down to them.

...so to sum everything up...it's nice to be Scott's child...  You could play around with all the latest technology and also dont worry about upgrading or spending $$$ for anything...because dad (Scott) does that on few months basis...COOL! Just wish I was one of his kids too....hahahahhaha....Good luck to them! And a message to Scott's kids....do spoil your father too, because he is really one in a million if not billion... 8)

And about your "gr.cards graveyard"...have you ever thought of opening some museum....for the future generations to see on what kinds of hardware we played games and stuff...that would really be nice...and I know i would fly my family there in i.e. some 30 years from now...and show them your museum and luckily meet you and your family too... 8-)

Scott
06-08-2006, 01:27 PM
You would love to see the stuff I have at work then. I have an 8088, 8086, 8087, 286, 386, 386SX, 486 DX and a boat load of old P-1 thru P-IVs in a case.

Johnie
06-08-2006, 02:44 PM
Sure I would...I mean I believe I seen all that..but like I said...if you open some sort of museum...I would be glad to take kids to vacation, visit you and show them how history was made...

Now that you said...you brought my memories back...8088....8086...good old XT's....then AT's...DX's...DX2, DX4....etc etc...now that were years...and even before that...with Spectrum's, Commodore's...Amstrad's...Amiga's...wowwwwwww...I actually owned Commodore 64...first in our school...and it cost around 500 Deutch Mark at that time....hahahahahahaha....and all games were so interesting to play...well...at least in that times....cause we were still kids...and it isnt hard to please kids...  8)

Good Luck and let me know about museum's progress...

Man, at least I wasn't the one to say it first. I think we should have Scott on the BF2 server more often. :)
