...through acquisition or wholly-owned subsidiary
US-based Newegg.com, an online retailer of computer and electronic products, is targeting the market in Europe through an acquisition or a wholly-owned new company in the region, according to company vice CEO SC Lee.
The online retailer currently expects to follow its successful strategy in the US for the China market, with a recently-added warehouse in Shanghai, said Lee. In the US, Newegg.com has 10 warehouses, with more than 60,000 product categories, Lee added.
Newegg.com anticipates its worldwide sales will grow 30% to US$1.7 billion in 2006, up from an estimate of NT$1.3 billion in 2005. Every day, the online retailer generates US$5-7 million in sales, with about 550,000 visitors to its website on average every day.
Acer and Asustek Computer have been ranked as the top-two Chinese brands in Newegg.com, said Lee, adding that the company expects to bring more Chinese brands to its online product offerings.
Hmm, so what about Canada? They were going to open up into that market more than a year ago... :???:
