Now...that's REALLY good news from Corsair!!!

CORSAIR is not making much noise about it but it is about to step in to the Power Supply unit business.
It is a cool thing to do and it seems everyone wants the part of the action. We saw Zalman doing it and now Corsair is set to follow suit. Its memory competitor OCZ has also been flogging its own Power Supply Units for a while and has had quite some success with it.

Read all about it HERE (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=32500).

"Zalman doing it"? I think Mushkin would be a much better example... and I'd have to wonder if Mushkin's new inroads into the PSU market might have provided any extra incentive for Corsair... ;)

Looking forward to the first reviews of Corsair's PSUs!

I'm pretty sure that Corsair have followed Mushkin...

But we must not forget that ZALMAN were the first "Cooling Accesories" company to start manufacturing PSUs, then OCZ started with it, and then, only then, Mushkin...

Oh...and there's also "Ultra"...:)

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think that Cooler Master was at the PSU game before the others........;) I could check dates, but it really doesn' matter does it...........:)

Yeah, I think you're right on that one come to think of it.

Just to clarify though, I wasn't including cooling accessory companies though. Just RAM manufacturers since Corsair and Mushkin don't deal with cooling accessories. :)

Isn't funny the way this business goes, one company makes something good that takes off, and all the others follow suit...........;)

I guess you're right about CoolerMaster and it really doesn't matter.
I perosnally think that OCZ were really the ones who had (and still do) great successs with their PSUs (among all the recent "new" PSU amnufacturers), altough all the rest have pretty decent PSUs as well...

I'm looking forward to trying out a OCZ PSU (as soon as the contest prize shows up). I've never had the chance to own one before, but I've seen a few of theirs die under full load from a CrossFire setup, but they were running at their max limit with all the other components that were installed in the system, so I guess you can't blame them to much. The bad thing was that it happened at a huge Lan in front of everyone.

I guess that soon enough you'll be able to test the OCZ GameXtreme 600W PSU...hehehe  (Damn...I wanted it so much, and finally ended up with getting a CPU Cooler... )

That PSU is going to come in handy either in my new test rig or main rig (haven't decided for sure yet). ........;)

Yeah, it is surely going to come in handy...And I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it, as I'm enjoying my current OCZ ModStream 520W PSU...
