Well I am trying to bring some more new members to the site so we are having a post like a madman contest. So as you guessed the folks with the most post will be the winners. Of coarse 1 line SPAM does not count.
So here are the rules.
Everyone in the USA, Canada and Europe are eligible this time around. Also all of last months winners can play in July. I am such a nice guy8-)
Oh yeah the prizes.
1st Place: XFX 7900GT VIVO
2nd Place: XFX 7600GT
3rd Place: XFX Headset and Mic, and XFX Gamepad
So I hope that is enough to get you guys posting!!

Man, I certainly enjoy the idea of winning another 7900GT. However, spam posts seem to be rampant, even from decent members. I have to wonder if there is another way of doing this sort of this so that you ensure 1) Good quality posts, and 2) Good quality (lasting) members?
Another suggestion is have entrants qualify by starting five useful topics.
May I apply to be a moderator? You are about to open the spam floodgates with so many one-sentence posts your head will spin.
Ps. I have already posted this competition in seven other popular forums, so expect a large turnout.

It's not much differant that the other post contests that were held here where they had a minimum post count of 100 or 250.
The question of "available to Australia" came up on another forum? Any chance of those folks taking part???????????

Well, doubt I will be in the running for this. Since your site is blocked at work (ironically where I get most of my web surfing done ;) ) by our retarded web filter, I can only post while at home which doesn't leave me a whole lot. But in the short time I have been here, I'm amazed at the prizes and contests..awesome work guys!!

Yeah most of you guys that post here have won something since I started this in December. I am really glad to see you stick around and keep the forums going.
But you know me, I would always like some more folks around here. I like it when I can always click on new post and find 5-15 new post to read. I love to read and comment on things and hate to go to other sites to do it when I own one right here. Thank you all that have won and stayed and lets see if we can get some more folks to hang around here.

I'll do my best to post as much as I can (non-spam posts, of course), but I guess that some people here have a better chance posting like mad (*caughing* werty *caughing*)
Another thing, I'll probably be aboard for the whole next week or so (flying to Newcastle and York, England, for work...), so I'm not sure whether I'll have an internet connection or not and I'm not sure if I'll be able to post at all between July, 1 - July, 7...:???:
Anyway, I'll try to smaller the posts "gap" when I'll be back on July, 8...
So...THANKS again and GOOD LUCK everyone!!!

I was messing around with my A8N board and OC'ing my CPU to 2.4GHz and memory at 225Mhz @ 1t was a bit faster than when my CPU is at 2.386GHz and memory at 280MHz @ 2T in benchmarks.

I have been developing an exit strategy from my industry and business for almost a year now. The IT profession is good and fine, but not well suited for someone past their 40's, IMHO. Perhaps I will find out, but I am only 31.

Yeah pretty much, except for the mods of course.... I could easily run out of space (storage) posting pics of stuff from reviews....
The phone was probably the most useful item I got for review yet...
As for the Corsair, that's in my intel system which I really don't use except as a secondary test system, my main system uses the regular ddr and I prefer the Corsair XMSPro 3500LL for that.. until I upgrade to AM2 platform I will be sticking with that, and I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon as I'll wait till the bugs are worked out..

Yes i agree. Only: as a 256MB card it did not perform well in Need For Speed Most Wanted. 1024 x 768 with slightly lowered settings was the best it could do without stutterings. I wanted top-performance (enjoy finest graphics) before my eyes on my 21" monitor @ 1600x1200 while running smoothly. ATI X1900XT delivers that!

Really? That odd because I played NFS: MW at 1280x1024 with everything set to max settings on a A64 3000+ @ 2.2ghz. A 7800GT shouldn't be too far off.

Alright guys,
I'll be honest, I am here for the prizes!
Any site that organizes itself and has enough pull to get sweet contests like this running has to be worth my time.
I don't think I will win, especially due to the presense of such prolific posters as werty, et al, but I will stay and post and join in with this community.
Why? Because this seems to be my kind of place, people seem decent and helpful and every now and then there might be the slightest chance of winning something!

I am not going to post like a mad man anymore. I feel that the massive amounts of posts by the contestants are drawing away from the core purpose of the forum. This decision is my own, and I will post for a contest no more. I hope that the remaining competitors will post only the highest quality replies, so that our forum can look better for this competition, not worse.
If another contest is held, perhaps some of the idea's we have been discussing will be implemented.

Welcome to the forums ToXic_WaSTe. Yes there are rules, you indeed can't post 2 posts after each other (just edit your last post). What a silly thing to say. You don't even know this person: they could stay online typing all day and night. You only have about 240 posts over on this person, and anything could happen.
Plus, you didn't even tell him how to find out the number of posts. Shame on you.

Fine I'll tell him how many posts a user has.

Yeah true I forgot that "time".
I am curious what you are saying here. Usually you are not so short with your posts, but I am stumped on this one. It doen's address what Scott was saying, or match anything else.
Please clarify.

Scott
Unfair on those down under

hey chuck another shrimp on the barbi luv
looks like I cant enter that contest

Working on getting you folks down under in the contest, just have to work out customs and stuff. We are already having issues with Canada and I thought the USA and it had a free trade agreement or something like that.

Hey Scott, I am curious what kind of problems you have shipping to Canada? I ship things there all the time, and all I ever have to do is declare contents in the customs form.

Normally its a matter of TAX difference and duty, or at least in Denmark...

I guess someone at custom forgot.
Here is what is odd to me:
When I recieved the package for the 7800GTX, there was the standard packing shipping slip included saying it was a contest winner and no other documents.
When I recieved the package for the 7900GT there was a packing slip that did not say it was a contest winner and second document. The packing slip had a different appearance in this package. This second document delared the total commodity value of the contents inside. I never got a document like this with the 7800GTX package. I am guessing because a value was declared, customs felt I have to pay duties on the package.
I guess the Free Trade Agreement doesn't matter as if someone from Canada buys something from the US, there is risky you'll have to pay duty no matter the value but ususally larger items are charged duty. Customs is freakin stupid to make a person pay duty whether a package was paid for or won in a contest.
I tried to ORDER (I didn't win anything EVER on the Internet) some games from our distributor here in Romania and, guess what? I'm still waiting for the damn games to arrive. So much for legal buying of games for me, in that matter.
Please, just be satisfied you won, I can only dream of such a video card here in Romania, I managed to buy a 6600 GT last year (Leadtek, Extreme Edition) and for now I have to stick with it. Our wonderful country makes you pay enormous amounts of money when you but a computer part (taxes at customs). F*** them.

07-11-2006, 06:32 PM
Yep, Customs SUCKS! In my experience, it's a very hit-and-miss process of what items will have duty charged to them. I've had duty charges on a $10 item all the way up to a $150 declared item! And they duty charges always seem to add up to roughly 1/2 the declared value of the item, which REALLY SUCKED for the $150 item :(
I do hope that Scott and XFX can get this sorted out! We're right above the US :P

I guess ordering overseas is a different story but when something is bought from the US and shipping to Canada chances of paying duty outweights it you don't have to pay.

A study in denmark shows that 15% of all internet bought items never get to customs and another 15% never leave customs, so you have a 70% chance of getting you stuff.

No, I know exactly what happened now. Not to sound ungrateful, because I am lucky to even win such a great prize. There was a miscommunication where my address didn't get to Scott somehow, and then when he had my address it was given to XFX. When I contacted XFX (today) they admitted that a form was incorrectly filled out (by them, not Scott), and it will ship out tomorrow.
And you are correct Werty: 11:59PM Monday night. I told you I couldn't wait.

Since I cannot manage to get a post count for this month, I was able to determine that a certain person has participated in 602 threads this month, compared to my own 287. I have been posting like a mad man, but the posts of this other person are likely the craftsmanship of an army of umpa loompa's.
