Independence day is also celebrated in PR. :D My father got the day off.

P.S. Fireworks are illegal to use here, only for the prows. :ninja:

@Mousiness, I'm a Democrat, and support our nation, not the nuthead that is in charge.

we really couldn't imagine anything like that over here in belgium, i mean in a lot of countries you have a lot of patriots (e.g.: the US, France, the netherlands, etc.) but over here we kind of always mock with our country and the government 'n all.

Happy 4rth.

Remembering those that had the courage to do what they had to to free the US from England, and make a country ruled "By the people" through representation.

BTW I don't' understand why a thread about our Independence Day turned into a thread about Bush. If you don't like the current leadership and your an American, get off you butts and change it. There is an election this year that could change the direction of our congress and one in 2 years that can change the direction of the executive branch. Whining about it now does no good, and if you didn't vote you should consider yourself to have no voice in government anyway. Bush was voted in based on a system that has been in place before we were born, get over it. When only 42.4% of American go out and vote (roughly 21% for Kerry), yet about half of Americans in these silly poles want to gripe about it I'd say about 30% of American need to have a tall glass of "Shut the hell up". Where where many of them when their voice really mattered. Whats funny is most of the people I talk to that bash Bush didn't even vote in the last election. The 15 electoral votes from my state went to Bush, so they missed their opportunity to matter.

Although I don't agree 100% with Bush, he has done an great job for our country and our country will be forever greater for it.

Wasn't that not the kind of dialog you were trying to start mousiness with your insinuation that our Independence Day should somehow be overshadowed by George Bush? Today has nothing to do with our current elected officials, but to celebrate our country and our freedoms.

Without Canada all we would have to pick on would be the French..... I'm kidding obviously. As terrible a place as I'm sure Canada is, we all know there are worst places. Take our neighbor to the south called Mexico for instance. They are coming to our country in greater numbers, and they don't even stop at the border check points.

Honestly, Canada provides the US a great service. If not for them where would our coward, chicken**bleep**, mommas boy, pansy soldiers go instead of serving their country? We certainly don't want or need their kind.

BTW the above is all meant as a joke.
