first one was kinda good, it has a plot and the villian pirates turning to bones skeleton kinda make sense
but the 2nd one, its like superman vs octopus, but just that the superman is pirates vs octopus instead. Was sitting there and waiting for jack sparrow to kill the octopus, but than he gets eaten by the monster instead, and bam, wait till episode 3. In terms of plot, its not the greatest i think....

You are entitled to your opinion, but I still have high hopes for the sequel :)
...and for future reference, please post a *SPOILER* warning or something similar if you are going to reveal some plot points from the film... I know that a film review usually contains some sort of spoiler, but sometimes they can be spoiler-free or contain very minor spoilers... in any case, I skipped your discussion of plot points because I don't want any of the plot spoiled for me ;)

Geeze spoil it much. Maybe you should have asked what others thought off instead of describing a part of teh movie.

THX, now i wont go see it, hate it when you have to wait. like the matrix 2, it just ended in "to be continued"... You cant do that with a movie, at least LOTR has some kind of ending at each movie, the same thing with star wars,

Its something called suspense so it flows into the sequel.

Its something called suspense.
Not when ot takes 3 years or something like that... Same with Harry Potter, the suspense is killing you and when you read the book you were like... "now i have to wait again... LOL, I should have waited" because you get used to waiting, but if its an end to a trilogy its probably okay with a bit suspense. Just hate waiting..

If a movie leaves you hanging its called suspense so you don't konw what to expect next and only way to find out is to wait for the sequel.

I'm planning on watching it this weekend (along with Superman Returns) :) :)
And for those following the Pirates Box Office Profits:
Pirates Breaks the Tuesday Box Office Record
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=15375
"isney's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has broken yet another record - biggest Tuesday at the box office ever with $15.6 million. The Omen remake set the previous record at $12.6 million last month. "Dead Man's Chest" also set the record for a nonholiday Monday two days ago with $18.1 million. The previous high was the $14.4 million earned by Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith."
WOW, the Pirates have defeated the Devil and George Lucas (one and the same? :P ;))

Saw it last night and loved it. It's about 30 minutes too long, there's not as much charm and humor as in the first, but it's still a perfect summer movie. And the third one comes out next year, so it's not that long a wait.

Bryan, did you stay until after the credits finished rolling? Apparently there's some sort of bonus scene afterwards... I just want to know whether I should stay for the whole credits roll, or can I leave once the film is finished?

Finally saw Pirates 2 last night... and it was GREAT! Any fan of the first film should enjoy the sequel as well ;) Fantastic SFX and action, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
And don't bother staying after the credits, as it's a throwaway comedy relief scene gag that contributes nothing to the main story... I only mention it as the credits are looooong, and if you were on the fence about waiting to see the scene, it's no big loss.

I really enjoyed it as well!! After watching all the stupid previews, I really thought it was going to be a pile of garbage, but it totally proved me wrong. I think it was better than the first one, anyone else think the same?
Also, we're not going to have to wait too long for the next installment...its coming out next year! So the suspense is well warranted :).

'Pirates' Loot Piles Up, 'Lady' Walks Plank
http://boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=2119&p=.htm
"Pirates' booty continued to grow at a record clip, racing past $300 million in 16 days, the fastest in history to reach that mark."
Wow, three weekends in a row! Pirates should have some good competition this week thought, with the release of Miami Vice :)
