Hi there,

I am finding in a couple of games that when i try and play the games (i.e. when there are 3d engines in use with textures etc, never normally a problem in windows etc) the textures are corrupted and they flicker in and out and disappear, can see through walls etc...and i have tried both the latest ATI drivers, and latest DNA drivers i could find - nothing seems to stop it...makes games unplayable...

So far, the two games i have tried with ther card are Fahrenheit and Rome:Total War

The Card is a Sapphire Radeon Atlantis 9600 XT, and my PC is an Intel P4 2.2 with 768mb RAM etc - should be fine for this!

Anyone has any ideas, please let me know - at the end of my tether not being able to play these games i have just purchased!

Is it just something i have to enable in the setup of the card?!

Have you tried using older drivers and updating the games with the latest patches? Does this corruption happen as soon as your card switches to 3D mode IE playing a game?

not tried that yet i don't think - assumed it was something just to do with setup

how far back would you think i should try to go?

It shouldn't be your setup. Try going down from the newest to the oldest drivers. Try two or three versions older and see if the corruption is still present. If your card can show its temperature what is it reading?

We had a heat problem before, so try cleaning your card with some compressed air. ;-)

I have tried the older drivers, but makes no difference at all

Interesting is that if i go in to the Catalyst Control Center app from ATI, and look at the 3d preview window, i can see the same problem in there with the graphics textures!

Must be a generic problem with my card then with all 3d games etc...

Hm, well it's possible there could be somthing wrong with the card... I assume this card is not overclocked?

I would suggest ya DL the free to use version of http://www.drivercleaner.net/ (http://www.drivercleaner.net/) and remove all the graphics drivers you find with it, and reboot to let XP load it's default drivers. Then go to Sapphire's website http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/support/drivers.php (http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/support/drivers.php) and download the correct drivers for your graphics card, and see if you still have the same problem.

Then I would also DL this program and check your card's temperatures http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/259 (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/259). Please let us know how this works out! :)

COuld it be the card even though the problems are in 3D mode?
If you have access to another video card test and see if you get the same corruption; if you do it may be the card.

Interesting is that if i go in to the Catalyst Control Center app from ATI, and look at the 3d preview window, i can see the same problem in there with the graphics textures!
Can you post a screenshot of this? I am curious as how the corrupted textures look.
