"Semiconductor company Agere Systems claims electronics giant's gaming systems, other tech products infringe on a number of its patents."

Geez, Sony's legal woes continue to mount...

This, in addition to the whole IBM/PS3 problems, could spell the beginning of the end for Sony. Wait a minute, that was started when they loaded copy protection software on their audio CD's!

LOL, true enough ;) ...Of late, Sony seems to have achieved nothing but missteps, with more to come (IE: Memory Stick Movies, Blu-Ray/HD-DVD format war) ...it doesn't look good... :(

I wasn't aware of MemoryStick movies... what a lousy idea.

As for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, it appears as though Blu-Ray is not getting the praise of the industry since reviews have indicated problems.

They are trying to be innovative with bad results like the UMD movies which didn't really catch on.

That's so true! Did they actually get fined because of that? If not, then they should be. How in god's name did such a company consider to add rootkits onto it's audio cd's. "We're protecting the artist (and f*cking up your computer <-though they didn't add that one)"

For the same reason they've run some pretty tasteless and stupid ads, including that "we pay you to graffiti our ads on buildings" stunt...
