I was looking into fixing my idler arm on my truck.
I came across this Q: and A: section of "About.com" or something.
Look at what the guy answering recommends....
Question:
I put my 1993 4x4 Chevy S-10 Blazer in the shop last week for a clunking in the front end on the passenger side when I turn or stop and vibration at 60 MPH plus. He put it up on the lift and said all he could see was the Idler arm was worn. He replaced that but it is still clunking and vibrating.
I was figuring it could be the CV joints or something in that area in the front end. Can you give me any of your thoughts and is it advisable for me to do the work myself? I have some mechanical experience and most of the tools
Answer: (partial)
It would pay you to try to actually hear the noise and see where it's coming from. Maybe get someone to drive it in a parking lot while you look at it. Maybe open the hood and climb in there while they drive around seeing if you can feel around for the clunk.
Lmao, so if anyone is looking for information on fixing there car perhaps they might want to look somewhere else? :)
Whole article. (http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl872e.htm)
