Hi Guys

My old chair has pretty much bit the dust and I'm looking for a really good chair this time around. I've looked at the Herman Miller Aeron and the Human Scale Leap Chair with gel seat and I like them both very much, but I'd like some other suggestions before I decide...TIA

I'd say get the human scale leap chair one. The Aeron is metal seating and back which doesn't look quite as comfortable as the leap chair.

I really don't know any good ones to recommend, sorry. ;)

Whatever kind of chair you go for though, just make absolutely sure the armrests are not the kind of material/design that will disintegrate within a year! Either from normal use, or because they got nicked/scratched a little... Otherwise, those both look like pretty good chairs.

Let me know where you eventually find your chair (site link). I am also looking to replace mine.

Things I have learned: Don't buy a leather chair, it will not be comfortable for long durations. Vibrating massage chairs are worthless; you are better off buying the pads. Arm rest padding is nice, but not going to last forever.

Leather will last ages (well, the good one, not the see-through kind you'll mostly get when buying those cheap chairs out there.) You can trust me on this subject, my dad makes chairs, couches,... so I know quite a lot about it. You are right though that it's not a very comfortable fabric. Our couch is made from leather and during the winter it is always cold, during summer it is always hot. Even if you decide to get a leather chair, watch out for counterfeit. There is a lot of fake leather out there that's hard to spot, even with the trained eye!
