Hi, anyone knows where or how may I obtain or buy a such dongle? I have a XFX GF 6600 GT AGP, it did not came with such dongle, but users from other forum said they were able to output component signal with a such dongle. I desperately need one for my HDTV which only has component input. It seems impossible to buy one of these anywhere. Or is it that XFX 6600 GT does not support component at all?? Heard XFX support could send one if i request, but the process goes forever, i'd rather pay for it if it's fast. thanks for any suggestions on this.
peace

I am not sure on this, but other GeForce 6x and 7x series use the 9-pin HDTV dongle, as well as a slew of ATI cards. In fact, ATI lists some of these on their site: http://shop.ati.com/searchresults.asp?dept_id=21

The ATI ones work good (I have one) but I have no idea if they would work on an nvidia card. It's currently on a 9600pro powering my Mame cabinet.

If you would like I can try it out later this week on my 6800GT. Let me know....

Don't know why it's so hard to find accessory cables for Nvidia stuff, XFX please ship me one! hahaha. Thanks for the feedback guys, i know what i need it's the 9 pin DIN to Component video dongle, just don't know where to get it >.<

Just so you know, the adapter I have is a DVI to component adapter. http://www.svideo.com/hdtvaiwr8500.html Your card has a DVI connector so as long as it works with my 6800gt it should work with your 6600gt. I don't know if I'd be too hopeful though, from what I've been reading it sounds like it may not work. I think it needs driver support as well as the adapter.

I'm on the road until this evening but I should hopefully be able to try it out tomorrow or Thursday.

Dear othullo, Simply go to www.xfxforce.com ==> Support ==> Help Desk and start a support ticket. In the body of the message simply request the HDTV dongle for your card and we can get one out to you.

Hi there,
I'm also looking for the dongle. I bought an 8400GS myself about 2 months ago and opened a support ticket at the site and got sent a dongle.
I have convinced a friend that the best way to connect up the new HD screens he has installed for his daughters is via an XFX card with the Dongle and a component cable.
I got him to buy 3x XFX GeForce 8400GS's and I opened a support ticket on xfxforcec.com, but the person replying is advising he doesn't know anything about dongles being supplied out free of charge etc.

Please help, I can provide both my ticket number and also the new ticket for my friend who has just bought the 3 graphics cards in order to use with dongles etc.

Thanks!

Dan.

Sure, if you need the dongle just start a support ticket requesting one. Currently we will send it at no charge (not sure about Europe areas).

Hi xfxsupport, thanks for the update. I raised ticket 115915 a couple of days ago, but don't seem to be able to get progress on it. 3 cards purchased, each needing dongle as they're for a friend's daughters PC's. I had no trouble on ticket 103894 for my own dongle, which I'm using now as I type using my HDTV as the PC monitor.

Thanks in advance, appreciate it.

Dan.

I was actually looking for something else (for video capture) when I ordered this. I have not tested it, but it does plug in to a couple of my Nvidia cards (6200 and 5900). It is marked with the Nvidia logo. It has a 9-pin mini-DIN plug (2,4,3 per row) on one end, and five jacks on the other: Y, Pb, Pr, Video (composite), and S-video. It has a small white tag marked as follows:
Compupack
P/N: 5511A001-001-LF
Rev G, Made in China

I ordered it from www.compuvest.com for US $5.50 under their item number 113001704-02. It does NOT look like the picture for the item on their site:

If anyone happens to come across the capture dongle as pictured in the link above, let me know!

Good Luck
