hi all.
i am having problems setting up my vcr to play through my personal cinema.my video card is the 5200 version.
ive setup my vcr to run though my tv capture card just the same as you do on standard tvs with some strange results.
i can watch tv no problems but it wont pick up my videos when i play them and it wont let me change channels using my vcr.
ive tried using s/video but it wont pick that up either also tried composite video with the same results.
if anyone has any ideas your help would be gratefully appriciated.
my operating system is windows media edtion 2005.
kind regards
jeff

So lets see if I got this right... you are able to watch TV on your computer, but no videos? And you have the VCR routed into the graphics card?

I'm not familiar with media center setups, but my uneducated guess would be something like simply changing the input/output mode on the VCR might fix the issue?

Dundee:

First things first: your VCR will only allow you to change channels using it's own channel control if your coax input in a direct analog feed from antenna or cable company. Most cable companies now use digital cable TV which requires a digital descrambler before it can feed into your VCR.

Next: you should be running composite video whenever and wherever possible. It is far superior to S-Video.
