I still have a very old AMD program that tells you the processor name and speed. Nothing to install, as it was self contained.

I didn't like the previous version of this utility that I'd tried... It REALLY wasn't happy when it found out how far my processor was overclocked.

How exactly do you mean, it wasn't "happy" with that?

Just a warning sign or is AMD turning nasty on its customers
My friend had no trouble running it even with his OC, maybe AMD just doesnt like you :P

The tested Intel(R) processor and system bus appear to be operating above their frequency specifications, a condition commonly known as "overclocked".
Please press the advisory button for further information.
Small variations in clock frequencies are common. If there appears to be a significant variation, please contact the PC system manufacturer or microprocessor place of purchase.
Lots of red text, a big yellow ! icon like that in the topleft corner, a advisory warning and the above quoted text were all given when I tried it out. ;)

It's kind of normal it does that, after all these utilities were made to prevent a computershop selling you a P4 "3.2Ghz" which is in fact a 2.4Ghz one. So if it does detect this it warns you in case you didn't do the overclock yourself and were ripped off.

Sadly, I have known of shops in my area that have done this to customers. It doesn't prohibit me from overclocking, so I don't care what color it screams at me.
