Since I've visited in the last couple of days, this forum has been completely dead. What's going on? Thanks.

I'm guessing there haven't been any XFX support issues that have needed discussion.

Okay. I've got some XFX stories, just to keep this forum alive. :)
Everyone knows by now that I got a bad XFX 7900GT EE. I got in touch with XFX support, and eventually got another card, supposedly from a new shipment from nVidia. I think they messed up and sent me one of the older cards with known problems, but I could be wrong. I had the same problems with the new card.
I've been speaking to a couple people at XFX for a week about it (after sending a very stern, maybe a bit volatile email about how disappointed I was in them), and they've been testing a card just for me. They say it's fine. But they also said the other card I got was fine when it wasn't. But this time around, I trust them. They've truly gone out of their way.
I sent my first card back in for RMA yesterday and XFX should get it by Thursday. Now they are telling me I need to ship my other card (which is in my computer now and works with City of Villains and Guild Wars, but that's it) before they send my new one. My livelyhood depends on having a working computer, so I can't afford to not have a video card for three days, or however long it will take for them to ship the new one. Trying to come to a compromise with them so we can get some cross-shipping done. I'm sure we'll work something out.
After initially having absolutely HORRIBLE and slow support from XFX, they've truly gone out of their way to satisfy me this time around. So to anyone who thinks they're all bad, they're really not. You just have to crawl on them and ***** and moan until they pay attention. ;)
If this third card is bad, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm well past the return date for the retailer I got the card from, and I doubt XFX would give me a cash refund so I could look somewhere else for a card that I know works (like one of the new eVGA Reload 7900GTs). Waiting for a response about the course of action that'll be taken if my third card is also busted. I have faith in XFX that they'll be able to work something out for me. Maybe they'll refund? They have the invoice, so they know what I paid. Maybe they'll allow a step-up to a GX2 for an extra $100 or so? Who knows? I'll keep ya'll updated as usual.
Anyone have any recent XFX RMA stories to share?

The interesting thing is you only hear about the bad stories. I have heard a ton of bad about Asus, BFG, Gainward ect, ect. Point is if XFX was as bad as people make them out to be when they post about them in forums they would of been out of business years ago.
They have actually climbed the ranks to be one of NVIDIA's top AIB partners. You don't get there by not being a good company.

Agreed. Their tech support dept. needs to stay on their toes. They're slow as hell. But other than that, it's a great company. It's not their fault they got bad cards from nVidia. The only thing you can fault them for is not getting to your issues as quickly as they should. But once they do get to your issues, they do all they can to fix you right up. I've just had some bad, bad luck.
Oh, and Scott, jealous of your setup. Mind if I raid your money tree? :D

xfxsupport, i trust that you guys have tested a good card for me. i don't know when i'll be getting it, as response has been very slow. but it should be within the next week.
honestly, if this next one doesn't work, i give up on xfx. you guys have been good to me, but 3 bad cards in a row would be just too much. i hope i have recourse in the event that i get a third bad card. i have faith in you guys, but i'm wary, as i'm sure you can understand.

3 bad cards isn't the worst I've heard of on some forums. I've read about some folks with EVGA cards that have gotten 4 and 5 bad cards in a row. I'm one of the extremely happy and pleased XFX 7900GT owners.............;) Not a problem at all out of my card from day one, and I've also contacted their online support a few times about bios and the like, and I've always gotten fast and prompt service, excluding the weekend time that is..............;)
