On my computer, my 7870 Myst Edition card has a weird audio related issue where the audio comes up with the red "X" over the speaker icon in the system tray indicating an error with the audio when I boot up my computer or when it comes out from sleep mode. To resolve this, I need to go into device manager, disable the AMD Audio codec driver and then re-enable it. After doing so, then all audio functions work as they should. If it matters, the onboard audio controller is disabled through the BIOS as I do not have any speakers attached to my computer's audio I/O ports.
Any reason why this happens?
