That's different then, but if the PC is just running for no reason then it would be a waste of power. :P

The Smart Response is more of a bonus to anyone who has an HDD only system and looking to upgrade. you save alot with a smaller SSD for the caching rather than primary storage. all of the common used items will end up on the cache SSD and make for much quicker loading of the OS and commonly used programs.

Josh I really wanted a z68 mobo for the ssd caching bad... I wont buy a ssd in many more years to come till i get that mobo or better. So stuck with the old Harddrives still then :-\

yep, plus with some of the boards that are not quite designed for discreet graphics (not particularly talking about the UD3H)... SSD caching can become handy for the HTPC users since they can have a large capacity HD and a smaller SSD for extra performance for loading apps. I'm sure all of you agree how frustrating it is when you need to wait a long time for the HTPC to turn on when you want to watch a movie. :P hahaha...

the smart caching is designed more for those who may not have a large capacity SSD as primary drive. If you already got it, then it's better to use just the SSD instead of the caching.

For being a user of SSD's for over 3 years the Z chipset really dosent excite me. I will stick with the P!
