Make sure you DL the patched version, I think its 1.02 but dont quote me on that..
I did. The 1.01 wouldn't even load. the 1.02 loads, but won't run the benches on my system. I'll be trying it again in a week, or 2, when I get a copy of vista that ISN'T being used by someone else. The last copy I got was, even tho' i was told it wasn't. About 2 weeks after I set up my dual boot, windows very politely called me a thief....
Eh, get Windows 7. You'll see an increase in performance over Vista.
It's a case of what I can afford ATM. Since the vista is being given to me.... well, that's what I can afford.
Just got a score of P15887 in 3DMark Vantage with my new Gigabyte HD6950 (unlocked to HD6970 ;-)):
Attachment 2654
(Damn...with my GTX275 I got a CPU Score of 42575 and now with my HD6950 I got a lame CPU Score of 11606. Any idea why??? I'm pretty sure it's because my HD6950 does NOT support PhysX, so now my CPU needs to handle all the PhysX calculations. But still...I wasn't expecting that degradation in the CPU Score. :frown:)
That is why PhysX is canned for official record stuff. It gives Nvidia a clear advantage over AMD with their PhysX boost in power. 15887 seems kinda low for a 6970. I believe it is time for a CPU upgrade.
Here's my run with setup in sig.

I hear ya. I was so close to a sandy upgrade then everything happened with my family and the wreck. I figure once we pick up the pieces and get back on our feet then I can look at an upgrade again. I just hate having a second 465 just laying around doing nothing though.

Which quad? Seems your score should be slightly higher than that.
