Few things:
The Smp-multi core option disables with my setup for some reason, does run with single core but cpu-z shows all cores at 100% load. Is that normal?
Second is there an option to set cpu load 0-100% somewhere? I found the gpu settings in the heat section but did not see any for cpu.
Third, thx for the post this is a very nice all in one for folding which more tolerable aside from the electric bill :P.

Is this on the core i7 2600k? I haven't read about any problems like that with this folding app. Maybe try reinstalling it. You have a passkey right? You should get some nice points with -bigadv enabled on that CPU.Quote:

So is it the points that count or the ppd?
My cpu has more points than ppd and gpu's Vice-Versa
if your cpu is using the SMP the points should be somewhere between400 and 1000 for any given WU, the ppd should be above 1000 for any given WU.
if your tracker shows you are using the CPU and not the SMP click setup-> configure, then the radio button for the SMP multi core client.
your gso should show 3000+ ppd or at least near 3000 on a few WU's. I'm not sure what the 285's give.
its saying my points are 9000 and my ppd is 24513.3 and its at 18% since last night going up slowly
the 285 gives pretty much the same as the GSO but completes wu's a bit faster 300-800 points ppd 9500 for gtx and half that for gso
your running the smp with bigadv set. so yeah thats good. and the PPD on it are averaged figuring in the bonus points. the regular smp without bigadv gives 921 as the big one pointswise and the bonus puts it at 3-4k for me. it takes almost 2days to complete and the averaged ppd changes depending on what I use my sys for while it's running. games stop it, other stuff slows it down by X %.
I put the FAH GPU Tracker V2 on my other rig with a Q9650 and set it to use 2 out of 4 cores and 50% heat on gpu witch seems to keep cpu load between 50-80%. I didnt see any option for tweeking the cpu load so I kinda assume by selecting less cors is how you decrease the load right, or how does that work? Also when selecting cores on the i7 4cores and 4 virtual total 8 does app count the virtual cores as a core?
Sounds like you might be running a slower project 2684 WU. Wait until you get one of the faster work units such as 6900. Just to be sure, do you have a passkey and have you completed at least 10 SMP work units?
Yes, 4 physical cores and 4 virtual cores equal 8 threads.

If this is your first time doing CPU folding with a passkey then I would suggest doing the regular SMP work units first, do ten, and then move to -bigadv.
the -bigadv failed after about a day and a half due to OC instability/memory problem so switched to regular smp for now thxQuote:
