Make sure your using the latest driver , 480s had that problem when they came out and the driver update fixed it for 3d11.

Just found this thread I will do some testing tonight.
Didn't really tweak it yet but did a quick install and this is what I got:

nice performance. I just run it no setting priorities or any of that crap just run it the way I have my computer setup.
That was pretty much stock for the gpu. Core was up a bit but stock volts. I will overclock later i don't think the card hit over 42C the whole test. I haven't bothered oc'ing the 580 cause its just folding.
nice score PP....
Thanks. I was shooting for 8k but my 4x slot really holds me back. Not to mention I'm stuck behind the ol 220fsb barrier.
I am surprised you can get SLI to work on a x4. But yes that is semi killing your performance. I say semi Killing because I messed with ATI vids on that same config and some games did not care for the second vid being on the limited bandwidth while others the only to tell the difference was cranking the resolution to 5760 x 1080. but this was done on a 2600K, should not be much of a difference as far as PCI-E lane distribution.
Well I'm not playing games on this SLI config. I was only doing synthetics and it seemed to do the job. As soon as I'm done messing with it the other 465 is going back in my server.
Just upgraded the system a bit, popped in another GTX 580 to have a flawless smooth gameplay with a triple monitor setup and in 3D Surround. Score is P16030:
