lol Joshua, and Dragon, sure I'll look into it and see what I can do. If I do do a guide it would be sometime in a month, because I do need to test a lot of cards and write the whole thing, stay tuned though, I'll let you guys know what I will have for testing soon.
It definitely would not be an easy one, that I will guarantee it. The biggest issue I see from review sites is that they are for one or the other, nor have I seen a true comparison between Nvidias solution and AMDs solution of multi monitors. Sure I know the differences between the two and what each others strengths and weakness' are, but there are those who do not know the differences are. And one of the things that is hurting PC gaming is that very few people actually understand what we can do on a PC vs console counter parts, because no one goes that extra mile to show these major differences. there is more to computer hardware then just speed.
Now it is time for me to find a video card flashing utility and start cranking a pair of 6970's till they scream hehehehehe.
Let me know what u come up with the 6970's I have two and would love to flash them also when I get the time. I mean after all thets what the little switch is for right?
If I do them indivually I can do 1000 MHz on the core and 1550 mhz on the mem. But in crossfire AMD CCC power play BS limits my clocks to 950/1450.
Same here. 950. But I nedd to flash them to 1Ghz and 500mem
if your vids are reference designed I can give ya the BIOS file from mine after I flashed them.
Sweet.. Thanks man. BTW no fires last night. Still got all the extinguishers.
I will get on them soon, I been having issues with my computer these last few days.
there's something clogging up my system. P4465 3DMarks
it should be in the 6000 range, which sucks also since it's a 480 sli setup but the rest of the tech is old. ASUS M3N-ht/deluxe, Phenom 9500, ddr2 800 with a mild overclock. I gotta find a way to upgrade.
Try some GSkill Pi Series DDR2-1200... I got some in my P45 setup. Fast stuff!
I could set my mem to 1066 which is as fast as this board goes i think. but still according to their site my setup should be over 6000. doing benchmarks in Just cause 2 i'm getting crappy frame rates and that's with the cards O/C'd...
I don't know WTF is wrong here..
tried to up the mem setting and the post hung. so rest the whole sys and now get P4412 3DMarks
which is a drop from before, and this time i even shut off the virus scanner and stuff. so WTF am I doing wrong? or is the 780a just that crappy a system? and i 'm assuming that this is better than I would have gotten from my 750a.... my SLI meter goes up and down during these tests (maybe I should shut that off and try again?) so I know the SLI is at least functioning, but is it working right? gotta hit the road, maybe when I come back I'll shut off SLI and try these tests again to see if that makes any difference.
