Duke Nukem Forever
-
Overall the reviews are mixed on this game. I have seen good/bad and a few mixed. Some of the bad seem to berate this game alot and some really good reviews seem to the typical paid reviews. This review seems to be rather fair. Will check it out in a few weeks when the price has dropped. On a plus side, it seems gearbox may make a Duke from scratch. If they listen to the complaints about this game, I am sure they can have a hit on their hands.

Thx for the review, game is great. I really enjoy games with a down to "earth" climate. Too bad the game was hacked right after release and floating all over the net now. Which kinda suggests the security features of it weren't all that good.

or maybe they decided to trust the end user like so many "honest" people kept saying the game co's needed to. I for one want the game but i'll wait till I can afford it. I'd like them to feel like doing another one is worth it to them.

I still haven't felt the need to pay full price for this game!

29.99 would have been a better price for the launch price. But still I would not pay more than 19.99 for it.
-
the only games that launch at low prices are unknown titles by unknown game houses. any one else figures the rep will bring the money.

It makes me sick seeing games launching at $60, and more for 'extras'. Not many people can afford to be blowing that on new games. I have to wait for months before I can get any new games, or find them deeply discounted somewhere.
As far as Duke Nukem goes, it follows similar game play from the originals, with a few mini games attached. People are used to the deeply immersive FPS games like Crysis, Fear, ect. This is a good game for those that grew up with the 90's games. Not worth the current price tag though. Have to to agree with Peti on that one.
