Running ultimate. I went to start Photoshop, which worked fine last night, and got an error which basicly said it couldn't start due to lack of available memory....... nothing else is running, nothing that would use 2+GB's of mem anyway. so I went to the resource monitor to find that over half my memory is being used to cache stuff that isn't being used. how do i stop this or at least flush it without having to reboot my system?
I don't have any experience with WIn7, but there is a program from Iobit called Game Booster, which closes unnecessary background programs and restores them when you want them back. Frees up a lot of memory, and the program allows you to decide what you want closed and what you don't.
turns out it didn't install properly, under XP SP3 compatibility mode it works fine. (so far) and this isn't open programs it chaced data and files , I assume based on stuff you use alot, so it has them on hand to make 7 feel like it's faster. (best guess anyway)
