I guess tha was what made my linksys so easy. that feature is included in the current firmware.

I Aggree. I was using two routers One DLINK DIR315 and a Linksys WRT54G. The WRT54G wasn't compatible with DD-WRT, only the DLINK one was. So I installed DDWRT to the DIR315, and after a long week of trial and error, I managed to get it working as an AP. :) managed to share my wifi from one building to the next building. It was fun.

However now i got a TP-LINK WR1043ND (It's awesome for the price) with OpenWRT. and I think OpenWRT is way better than DDWRT. So try to install that on both your routers if they're compatible. I think they both should be compatible because they're quite famous routers.

Good Luck. :) BTW the OpenWRT forums aren't that good. Had better support on the DDWRT forums.

Powerline is also something new, but i would suggest you to use both those routers only. Did you pick up those routers separately? or together? Whenever i pick up routers I usually go for both the same brand or model. :) So i Can always bridge them up easily.

You may have that backwards. D-link does not support DD-WRT but the Linksys does as I have a one flashed.

Linksys DD-WRT setup has a lot more flexibility on the older gen devices.

True as that may be (I have a flashed WRT54G too), I think they can make a firmware for any Broadcom chip regardless of brand.

I agree with ryandigweed, If you want to connect one or more router, better if you choose same brand, cos its quite easier to pair them. And if your routers have wps, you can try to use that feature.
