Oil Pan
Story: Took my 2002, Chrysler 300m in for service – oil change etc. Dealer says someone put a replacement oil plug in the oil pan and I need to replace the whole pan. It drips about a half cup of oil every couple of months. I don’t like the oil drips but $400 for a new pan seems a bit much.
Am I getting the runaround here?

Wrap some teflon tape around it and tell them no thank you.

That is as long as the oil won't break down the teflon tape but I wouldn't think it would.
I could be wrong though.

I use teflon when doing plumbing work. Not sure how oil would react either.

A new pan at Autozone is 156 bucks and only a couple bucks for the gasket. If you want to fix it yourself it wouldn't be that hard. Should only be drain, remove, replace, refill. Google will have exact steps for you.
