I typically recommend Samsung SSDs right now. If you can find an 830 in stock I would grab one.
Personally I have a Kingston SSD V200 Now and it works great! They are often on sale once a week or so for a decent price. I know nothing of Samsung's SSDs so I can't really comment on that. But I do enjoy my V200 and haven't had a single problem with it. It boots pretty freakin fast and I absolutely love it. I'd say it's worth looking in to :P.
The Samsung 830 is among one of the most reliable MLC SSDs you can buy right now alongside a few Intel and Crucial units.
Hands Down Vertex 4 256GB!! Samsung Pro 840 is right behind it.
Samsung 830 ! :)
I would not buy any OCZ product right now, their SSDs being the top of the list.
You might not have any support or warranty facilities in a couple of months ahahah
There are a lot of great SSDs out there.
There are, as always, considerations to be taken into account, but I think that if you go with any of the following manufacturers, you'll be perfectly happy.
1.) Samsung 830. I recommend this b/c it has great performance. Also, Samsung makes all internal components which really helps for reliability as well as performance. They handpick NAND for their SSDs which gives it higher quality and performance (as I just said)
2.) Corsair Neutron GTX. Uh.... Corsair. If you really want me to elaborate, it's one of the highest-performing SSDs (although read/write speeds are only a bit higher than their Force GT drive, if you're looking for a budget drive).
3.) Intel 520 series. Again, Intel consistently puts out high-quality products. This one is extremely durable and performs great.
Good luck!
I've heard on facebook that ocz ssd are not so reliable....they broke early in a few months...is it true? I always thought they were good!
Doesn't change the quality of their current products on the market. I mean, for the average user sure they might be fine, but I just wouldn't trust possible outcomes with my hard cash.
OCZ has a high failure rate, but they also have the highest sales so it balances out I suppose. I think they wouldn't have had such a bad rep if their Vertex 2 line didn't have that problem. I just recommend Samsung 830s to people because they have the highest reliability rate under stress testing.
A non average user as in somebody who may put many simultaneous reads and writes on their SSD daily due to some form of work environment. I wasn't talking about myself, but rather just any non-average user who puts more of a load on their SSD than simply browsing the internet or loading a game or two daily. I try to put the least amount of load on my SSD since I have a Vertex 2.
Kingston hyperX SSD 240gb, that's cheap and high performance
