I use FRAPS and have it save in TGA then in Photoshop convert it to max quality JPEG. If you have it save in just JPEG quality is terrible.

tga?

If my knowledge is correct it is a RAW format picture capable of 32bit precision. In other words, super quality pic lol.

Snapping shots in JPEG reduces the quality bad. So I went to doing this so the quality isn't lost so much during the initial snap.

Ahhh. I just use Windows tools to capture screenshot - snipper or print screen. Is FRAPS totally free?

To use it yes, but not the whole program.
