People have to realize every company cuts corners to make a profit as it's the name of the game. If you can successfully make a product that doesn't die in 3-5 years under normal use for normal customers while making money then kudos. My 465 lasted 225MHz OC on the core under stock cooling for 3 years while hitting 90c a lot during gaming sessions. Good enough for me. Probably still running in that assholes rig that stole it from me.
I would say they are right in thinking their name is out there enough, but wrong for thinking they couldn't use any extra PR.

When I worked at EVGA, the motto amongst the CS crew was, "bend over backwards and take it in the ass". This was in reference to pretty much saying yes to everything the customer wanted.

"Physical damage? Oh, you ran hit it with a sledge hammer? Send it in. We'll replace it for you!"

Ok, maybe not that extreme, but you get the idea. This is the reason why EVGA has such an awesome reputation with their customer base. Lifetime warranty isn't around anymore, and registering within 30 days is a PITA especially if you don't know about that because you're naive about reading their warranty terms and conditions. Regardless of this though, the simple fact that EVGA will have their product replaced regardless of the situation is why people like them and are willing to pay a premium over other NVIDIA partners.

how did your card manage to be stolen? And yeah I put my gtx560 under a lot of stress on a low end system with a weak power supply.the card was even giving a few artifacts at times. I think that was because of the power issue. Still eVGA stayed by my side through dark times with a crappy PSU !!

eVGA really gives alot to the community. And they're really awesome. The main guys like rob are really helpful. Whenever I mail eVga regarding some issue Rob is always there to help me. :-)

Laziness bit me in the ass. I was trading my 465 and a benj for 2 470s. He offered for me to drive to his place which was almost an hour drive one way from my place so I just asked for video and a pic of the cards. I received then we made the trade. When I got home both cards were dead, the email was fake, and the number was fake that he used. I managed to track him down online with a friend and since I had half of his plate memorized I used that to match his vehicle and sent the address and plate information in to the police.

It's something I don't talk about. Realistically, it's something I don't talk about because I didn't like working there. It was just a job, a stressful job at that, where you felt unappreciated because you were "expendable". For as long as I was there, I saw many faces come and go. The average employee turn-over rate for my department was 3 - 6 months. Other departments were slightly longer being 1 year.

I'm only saying this because I used to work there. If you would have asked me while I worked there I would have straight up lied and said, "yea it's really cool working here". I'm sure that if you call in right now and ask what it's like to work there, the reply would more than likely be a "yes" with that being a false "yes". That is of course unless it's a new-hire who is fully excited about working there and is naive about working there.

I still have friends who work there and they tell me how "awesome" it still is to work there. The funny part is, I happen to run into more people that work there now. That's happened a few times at school, lol.

Oh, and is that Rob Baca that you're talking about? Or just some forum dude?

Wasn't that hard actually. Friend got the IP and tracked the block for me and drove over there looking for the vehicle. Got lucky and found it, jotted down the address, sent it in.

Ahahah way too awesome man..I could never pin point people messing with me..maybe because they were using dynamic IPs and I don't know how to track the location and narrow it down to a certain block

I know how to get IPs and such, even narrow to a city but my friend knows all that crap as it's kind of his thing. That and wireless technology. He's my go to guy if I ever get stuck.

I know several people that used to work for EVGA, and they do not work for them anymore. They used to be in other departments, not technical support, and one of the people that I know that still works for them works at the technical support department. Either way, the rest of the staff left because of the way they were treated, the lack of respect, and job conditions. Plus some started seeing the reality of things.

I'm not going to say EVGA's products suck, cuase there are some nice hardware out there from them which will work completely fine, but I wouldn't be proud of certain things they make.

The people that are there still from when I was there have moved around to different departments and say they like it there better than CS. However, like you said, their overall treatment isn't the best. One guy goes to my school and he was said, "when you left, you never looked back. you're a smart man" :)

Really. That's kind of interesting - their support staff are certainly good, so the quality of the work doesn't reflect the conditions. What kinds of problems?
