So I've had my eye on this card for the past few days, and have been considering purchasing one to replace my 6870. It seems to be quite the performer and overclocker, and Newegg has it on sale for $250 at the moment. Opinions?

The XT is an even further cut down Tahiti chip, so a lesser 7950. You'd be better off paying the extra 9 bucks and getting this.

I know what it is. I have no interest in a 660 Ti, the only advantage it has is PhysX.
From what I've seen the 13.2 drivers have fixed this, and AMD is continuing to improve them. The 660 Ti ends up around slightly less than a 7950 which puts it right in the 7870 XT's ballpark. The few 7870 XT's I've seen have been able to OC to 1200+ core, and 1700+ on the memory, which is enough to put it ahead of a stock 7950 in most cases.
I haven't had any issues with ATI/AMD drivers since I got my first 4850, and I've owned more Radeon cards than I'd like to list.
I've owned Radeons from every series so far except the 7000 series. Their drivers still suck, and I still have a 5850 in use.
I haven't seen any articles proving the 13.2 to fix latency issues. Only the Overclock Nvidia vs AMD nonsense thread which mildly talked about it then went to what the 7950 competes against and overclocks vs stock.....bunch of tards IMO. Then you have the TR article which last I looked the preview wouldn't install with their latency test card. Then again, the last time I googled was a little while ago on it.
I will admit that some on that Overclock share the same points I do. The 7950 is a direct competitor to the 660ti making the 7870 XT a lesser competitor. Talk OC with one, talk OC with the other as the 660ti can OC high too. Making it more worth the extra 9 bucks.
To each his own though.
i will wait for the 8000 to come out and let the price drop abit becuase the 6870 still is a ok video card or save 50 more buck and wait for 670 on sale
Like I said on FB, there's always the PowerColor version. Same thing, and it's significantly cheaper than the Sapphire version of the card even before the rebate, lol.
You know where I work, right? If you don't, it's cool. If you think you know, or you know for sure and just want to make sure, PM me here or on FB, lol. I don't want everybody here to know, lol. So, if you know - or after I tell you - you'll see why I'm saying what I'm saying now.
Anyways, PowerColor isn't bad. What do you have against them? I mean, if you have a brand preference over any other brand, that's cool. If you don't have a brand preference, then I say you look into them to see how they compare to Sapphire. Give both companies a call and such.
Oh I didn't realize thats the particular yea.
I've never used them so I don't have anything against them, just always had good luck with Sapphire, so its what I trust. Do they have the same warranty?
2yr warranty? yea, lol.
lol i think someone was hinting at something here. Powercolor doesnt look bad and as CD's was saying they are cheaper in price. I've never heard of of them till lately on facebook. But more then likely i'm looking at something from them here soon.
I will personally vouch for Powercolor, I have over 14 of their GPU's (10 of them 7970's). THey are great cards and their RMA is painless if needed. I have a bunch of GPU's for sale. 6970's 5970's 5850's 5830's
