Well just got done upgrading to this puppy. Will post some pics.

I added a few pics of my Eyefinity setup as I haven't posted any pics since I got it set up over the holidays.

Pretty happy with the new ASRock mobo, right out of the box was able to get my FX-8150 to run at 4.5 Ghz and run 4x4GB 1866 at its reated speed instead of the 1600 I was limited to on the 970 Extreme 3.

Thanks "G" I wasn't an AMD fan until a few months ago. I guess the imperfections and crappiness of AMD are more fun to tinker with than Intels perfection.

My first gaming computer was an AMD so they hold a special place for me. I've always thought they were more fun to tinker with, I still like to tinker with my Opteron 170.

Haha overclocking really is that easy when you're only looking for a 10% or lower overclock.

AMD holds a special place to me too. Using the lead trick to unlock the multi on a Duron was THE coolest thing for me way back in the day. My mind was so blown I had a chub for weeks. The problem for me is I can't see wasting money when it could go somewhere else in an Intel rig.

The thing with an Intel rig is that once you spend "a lot" of money on one you pretty much gonna stick with it for a while, pamper it etc. and once your done with it it just gets boring. You chicken out to push it any further as you might end up frying something worth 200-300$++. With a cheaper AMD it's a different story, even if you do happen to set something ablaze it won't hurt your pocket as much, swapping out components is not that expensive and it just seems more fun.

Swapping out is about the same if you go with actual AMD chips that hold any kind of performance. 200+ for either the 8350 or 3570k.

I have a 3960x collecting dust. Didn't chicken out pushing it to 4.7Ghz on an H50. The problem is, it's pointless to go beyond stock with it because stock with turbo is 100% fast enough. In regular gaming I have received almost no difference going from it to my i5 750 besides in Shogun 2.

Which is pretty much why it doesn't matter that the AMD isn't as fast. CPU is taking a back seat in games to the GPU at the moment.

Doesn't mean games don't benefit from the faster single threaded performance. I'm still faster than even Phenom 2 with an i5 750 which was faster than the Bulldozer FX chips. So a drop like that wasn't that bad. I wouldn't want to drop to something like an FX 4100 from a 3960x though.

Well despite that the FX-8150 are good overclockers it seems to be much more challenging as they are totally different from overclocking intel chips. Overclocking this one is quite challenging and fun. So far was able to get up to 4.5 and I have no clue what I'm doing lol.

They should be unlocked. Should all really be the same in the end. Overclocking 45nm Core 2's on P45 was fun.

Getting to boot at 5.0 was fairly easy, stability is .................................... not even cinebench would run without a BSOD.
Mobo is pretty awesome but bios could use some TLC.
