Ok, I did myself. I swapped the backup bios in for the non-working bios. I rebooted. I swapped out the backup bios and put the non-working bios back into the motherboard. I reflashed the non-working bios with the 1.3 bios using winflash. And now the original bios is working again. Thats for the guidance.
note: 1.4 bios asks you to burn the image and boot from the CD.

No Post after BIOS update
Wish I would have read this forum first, might not have gotten an XFX board.
Did the BIOS update from within Windows, as posted, After rebooting, nothing. Got FF on LCD, all 3 lights on top of M/B are on, Drive light solid, no power light, rear case fan not turning. Very similar to several posts here.
Looks like I've got the same issue. Tried clearing CMOS, no change, pulled power cord and pressed power button to clear M/B of power, pulled M/B battery, left over night. No change. Posted ticket with XFX, but I don't think they have tech support on the week-ends???
So I've got a dead system and I have to wait for XFX to reply.
Hope XFX tech support is not as bad as it's made out to be on this forum.
Uh, also tried booting with no memory, of course, no change. No beeps, no noise, nothing on monitor. Tried booting from floppy, but it doesn't get that far.
There is one red light tha comes on, it's located to the left of the 3 lights at the top of the board. can't see what it says though.

New BIOS Ordered
Ordered a new BIOS on ebay yesterday. Still no news from XFX.
But I can't have this newsystem sitting here doing nothing, would like to have this system up and running ASAP. So glad I hadn't transfered data to it yet. I would be so pissed.
So, we'll see what happens this week.
If this is the kind of support I can expect from XFX, I'll have to rethink my video card purchases for this system.

XFX support contacted me
Ok, they replied to my support ticket.
No break thru, but they mentioned some of the items that can cause a no boot issue and asked for the M/B serial #.
Hopefully, this means I'm going to have a good experience.

Got my RMA
Got my RMA today from XFX, so going to pak my M/B and send it off to them tomorrow. Hopefully it won't take too long.
Holding off on my video card purchace until I get the M/B back.
I can hardly wait.

Hi everyone,
I am joining the rest of the people here who have flashed to bios 1.4
I use the ISO file from xfx's website. I was running in ahci mode since i was using Sata ports 5 & 6 on the 750A SLI motherboard.
As soon as the flash completed successfully, I rebooted and got the checksum error.
Pressing Del took me to setup which, when I saved settings, the computer would turn off, then no on-screen display.
Pressing F2 to load defaults would load vista, but on restart, back to square 1.
the only way to get any display would be to reset cmos using the jumper everytime.
I have submitted ticket 232068 to XFX, crossing my fingers!

I had to rma my board but not for this. I have had few problems since I got the new one, so I'm pretty happy with it. some of them are just not good from the factory. this site makes it look like alot but you only see a small percentage of the boards sold here. overall they are a decent product. I just wish i had spent a bit more for a better chipset...

OK, I have 750a and just updated BIOS to version 1.7 and now every time I save BIOS settings and shutdown Windows, PC won't boot anymore till I clear CMOS. It seems to be some setting in BIOS that does it, but I haven't been able to pinpoint which one.
I tried to downgrade to v 1.5, but it's not working, BIOS stays at 1.7. Does anybody know how to downgrade or which setting causes this ?
XFX support is 100% useless, so I'm hoping someone here knows something.

So I found the setting that causes this. It was the setting that allows to set keyboard key to wake the PC up. When PC is shutdown this option disabled the power button and the keyboard ??? WOW, someone didn't think this through.
Anyways, hope this can help someone and I'm sticking with ASUS.
