Here's my new 3DMark Vantage score with my Q6600 G0 @3.2GHz and my new Zotan GTX275 (currently at stock...but not for long ) with the latest WHQL 186.18 Drivers.

    I've reached a score of P13452

Right now, at stock, the clocks are 633/1404/1134, but I think I'll overclock it to (at least) 702/1512/1260, which is the 'Factory-Overclocked' clocks of its 'AMP!' version.

The card idles right now at 48C and reached a maximum temp of 76C during the run of 3DMark Vantage, so I think the temps are OK.

I'll also bump the fan from 40% to 70%, at it doesn't get too noisy at this level...

I'll upload my updated score once I'll overclock it (in the next few days).

So, enough blabbering, here's what I got:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (G0) @3.4GHz (8 x 425)
    Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard
    Scythe Mugen II CPU Cooler
    OCZ Vista Performance Gold XTC PC-6400 DDR2 4GB (2x2GB) @800MHz 5-5-5-15@2T
    Gigabyte HD6950 2GB @HD6970 (Unlocked Shaders and Clocks )
    CoolerMaster HAF-932 Case
    Sapphire PurePower 950W PSU
    60GB OCZ Agility SSD (FW 1.5) w/ Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    1.5TB HDs --> DATA
    Logitech X-530 5.1 Speakers Set
    Viewsonic VX2235WM 22" Wide-Screen LCD

Thanks! Nothing really... It's just that it's almost 22:00 now in Israel and I need to wake up at 6:00 in the morning.

Don't you worry, I'll overclock it in the next few days, maybe even tomorrow and I'll surely let you know the results.

Who knows, I might even try to overclock it today...

BTW, I've just noticed that it Idles at 54C and not 48C like I said before, but I think it's still OK.

I'm glad that my Mushkin 650W PSU handles it perfectly so far...

Couldn't hold myself and before I'm going to sleep I've overclocked it to 713/1512/1260, which are the clocks of the eVGA GTX275 FTW and got an impressive score of P14669!

I've set the fan speed to 70% (instead of 40%) and the Idle temps were 53C, while LOAD temps during the run of 3DMark Vantage reached maximum 83C.

I'm pretty sure I can overclock higher, but I think I'll keep my overclock like that, at least for the time being, as the card is new and I want to keep it safe...

I actually get higher scores in Vantage (even with PhysX disabled) than I do in 3DMark06 with the exact same configuration. I wonder how that works?

Dang it, I'm thread jacking again. Back on topic showing Vantage scores.

The reason NVidia cards run Vantage so well is strictly due to PhysX. Vantage is heavily effected by PhysX equipped hardware, that is why NVidia cards supporting PhysX put out high Vantage scores. If you look at the CPU score on a PhysX equipped machine, you will notice it is very high. Turn it off, and it will score much closer to an ATi equal card. Example, disable PhysX and run it again, a GTX 295 will score similar to a 4870X2 in Vantage, same goes for the single GPU cards.

When users read reviews I often feel they rely too much on benchmark application scores. This leads to them being mislead and they end up buying something thats not as good as they initially thought. Unfortunately, not all benchmarks are fair. 3DMark Vantage is definitely NVidia friendly.

why as reviewers we should point out both goods and bads, and their capabilities. nvidia physx, ati's dx 10.1.

I might then try running Vantage again with PhysX disabled. I'll do so in the next few days and post the score with PhysX DISABLED here...

    WOW!!! Very impressive score!

At first I was SHOCKED () to see that you've scored that high with your 9800GX2 (according to your sig), but after checking the image closely, I've noticed that you got that score with a GTX295.

Man, you'd better change your sig if you don't want to cause people heart attacks and make them throw away their GTX275,285,295 cards and buy a 9800GX2...

Thanks Zachig! I am still tinkering and have a little better score. Will update the sig so as not to cause anymore harm.

    WOW!!! Nice!

I'm pretty sure I can it over 15K if I'll try to overclock my GTX275 a bit higher. I might try and do so, just in order to break the 15K barrier, but even if I'll manage doing so, I still won't keep it like that 24/7.

I prefer not taking the risk and keep my GTX275 stable and cool at 712/1512/1260 24/7.

In case I'll try the higher overclock, I'll surely keep you updated and post the new score here.

I don't generally recommend keeping a GPU heavily overclocked for long periods.

Suicide runs I just point an extra 120mm fan at them.

I'm about ready to start on a long SLI/Crossfire article I'll have to post some scores.
