Default XFX Tech's Personal Recommendations for 790i Memory

I will update this list as I see fit. This is memory that has been binned out on a 790i by the memory manufacturer directly before packaging. With the competing DDR3 controllers between NVIDIA and Intel, these are my picks.

Nice job on this! Glad to see a *personal* recommended list! (I'm not trying to shun the other XFX support dude's memory list)

I'm going to print this off for my friend, who's going to have a XFX 790i board soon. Am I allowed to do that?

Sure. You can do anything with it.

The other list posted is an officially tested list. That is why it actually has Samsung and Elpida and that kind of stuff on it.

It will have an EPP profile so you can enable SLI Ready Memory and it should do it on it's own. I recommend setting it manually instead of using the EPP profile. All you should have to do is enter the settings that they recommend and it should work. Not much tweaking involved.

shouldn't be any issue, I have used that ram with 790i based board and has no issue.

You can see how old this thread was. I should probably get rid of it now. With the latest BIOS and manually setting your memory timings you should be able to run just about anything as long as the sticks are functional.

I'm wondering will any of the new 2X2GB low voltage (around 1.5-1.65) kits work with the 790i? I ask because of less heat, power usage, etc...
