I've never really been an ATI enthusiast, but they look nice and they probably stay cool lol. I thought XFX was making only Nvidia chipsets?

XFX is going ATI and Nvidia. Its the best of both worlds. They posted this news a few months ago here on Bjorn, and other web sites.

I am gonna take a stab at this and say that they'll perform the same if not similar (clock for clock) to any other card with same name prefix.

Well, I could've either gave a nice answer or an @$$ of a hole answer; I chose the latter considering the question which btw made me think "WHA?!?!" so bleh!

(spoken in a redneck accent) Its like my maw always says: there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Now they just need to do something about that price, it's about $50 to high for todays market.

............Did XFX decide to make ATI cards because of the performance of the 4870x2....did they see something forthcomming from ATI's engineers....did or does XFX own shares of AMD, if so how much? Is XFX's parent company Pine Holding Company?

I like the dual slot cooling on the 4830 and 4850 cards. The coolers for a lot of the 4830s and 4850s are large but don't channel the hot air out of the case. I'd be interested to see how the temps and overclocking on these stack up to some of the other manufacturers.

I really like the look of the 4830 and 4850. A lot of companies are using larger coolers on these cards but I like that XFX decided to go with a dual slot cooler that channels the hot air out of the case. I'd like to see how overclocking and temps on these card stack up to some of the other big companies.
