Default Post your Internet speed here

    I love my Internet connection
I guess the true speed may be more as speedtest.net meter maxed out at 50Mb/s

I was pretty sold to get a great Internet connection. I know so many who only have access to piddly 1Mb or so connections so it's pretty enjoyable to have such a fast Internet connection.

/rant I believe Internet connections could be this fast for as cheap in most cities with a reasonable amount of residents but it seems the ISP's are only attempting to lock in the market vs. gain customers via innovation. /end rant

I think you are spot on..I know local companies here (brighthouse for one) will only up it to keep ahead of any competition...otherwise it stays stagnant. Pretty sad if you ask me.

It's foreign... I'm studying abroad. It actually comes with rent, costs 20 euros/mo.
I think the company quoted is Elisa but I'm sure that means nothing.
The actual download speed is maxed (on speedtest it only goes to 50Mb/s) out so I am not sure what it actually is tops.

Europeans have a little different view on Internet accessibility.

I love that Finnish attitude, we need some of that in North America.

We pay 14€(~20$) for the 10/10 package, 100/10 costs 20€(~30$). I'm very tempted to upgrade, but i don't think i really need so much bandwith honestly. We still have only a 1mb/256kb at my parents house though.

Not bad! Those speeds are pretty high and cheap to match. That's actually really cheap! I wonder what the next big speed boost will be and what we can do to utilize it.

It seems speeds have gone 512->1Mb->2Mb->10Mb->100Mb... Next? I'd guess it will only incrementally increase to say 150Mb and then 200Mb and slowly make it's way up to 1 Gb. When? Pulling a random number from my random number generator (my head), I'd guess 2020. Maybe sooner actually if you consider 1Mb was pretty fast not that many years ago and now 100Mb is common in major areas.

I am supposed to have 512 Kbps (not 2 Mbps) for the $50 that I pay Internet is very expensive here

Service is: Comcast in central PA
Paying $75/mo for "6Mbit" down and hdtv extended-channel package. (its a 6mo promo)

Don't forget that comcast has Powerboost which supposedly doubles the subscribed speed for the first part of all downloads.

DLS reports says i'm getting 13 megabits down.
    SpeedTest.net says i'm getting 15 megabits down.
