XFX 680i LT SLI P06 BIOS request
So I'm experiencing the same problems as a bunch of other posters with the 680i LT from Tiger Direct. Namely, it's the defective first pcie slot. I've tried prety much all the solutions posted. I can't RMA Because it's out of warrenty.
The past two years I've had my video card in the bottom PCI slot, so I never noticed that there was a problem with the first. I had the P06 bios which didn't have the restriction for it to have to be in the top slot. The video card worked perfectly and all my games were fine.
However, I recently updated to the P08 BIOS. This has the restriction for a single PCIE card to be in the top slot. But my top slot doesn't work
. The computer turns on and supposedly POSTS perfectly, but the video card doesn't seem to be detected by the mobo. I've eliminated all other possibilities like RAM. It's definately not the video card since it works in the bottom slot. Either way, I tried it with another PCIE card and the same problem exists on the top slot.
So long story short, I couldn't even get it to boot off the cd to flash to another bios since a) The bottom slot wont let you post and b) The top slot produces no video.
I went out and bought a crappy PCI (non express) video card and I was able to POST, so now I could flash the bios atleast. I've tried both P08 and P07 posted on the support site, however they all have the same restriction. It seems P06 is the latest one which doesn't. However it's not available on the XFX Support site. A quick google search for the P06 BIOS produces a few links, but they're all dead

I created a support ticket detailing the problem and mentioned that I'm out of warrenty so I'm not expecting an RMA, but I asked if I could get the P06 update emailed to me. The first reply I got was pretty much "Your board is out of warrenty so we can't RMA. We would send you the bios update, but since you can't POST there's no point".
I replied back saying "Yes, I can POST. I've tried the p07 bios as well and it has the same restriction. Can you please send P06?"
They replied saying "We've emailed a new bios to you". I check the email and it's P07!
To give them the benefit of the doubt, I wasted another CD and flashed it. But lo and behold... same restriction!
[/ END RANT]
So I replied back asking for the P06 update again saying that the one they sent (P07) still has the restriction. Given they take a business day to reply, and given that it's the holidays so business days are very scattered, and given that I've been without a computer for the past week, I was wondering if any of you knew any faster way to get the P06 update. I've never had these kinds of problems with XFX Support before... They're usually pretty good with their customer service.
Thanks
