Not sure we're talking about the same thing. I was under the impression the 360s had chassis intrusion sensors too, to detect hardware modding. Some of the mod videos I've seen for instance talk about making sure you screw back in all the black screws, or MS's security measures kick in.

I Don't think they can do that. http://lian-li.com/v2/en/flashpage/xb01/

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. There could be custom cases made to their security spec and licensed by MS.

Actually we ran em with out the chassis without getting banned. They cannot base banning reasons on temps bc every X Crack 360 will be different. they can detect if the fan has been disconnected though. the only other way they can detect is if and when you mod your X Crack 360 (ie make it be able to play illegal games)

    UPDATE:

    My friend's XBOX360 is still up-and-running.

He decided to purchase Alan Wake and since I was the one to fix his console, he decided to first let me play the game, while he's playing other games on his PC!

So...I guess I'll start playing Alan Wake (finally!!!) this coming weekend and only when I'm done with the game, I'll return the console back to him.

And of course, he promised me that whenever I'll be interested in playing any XBOX game, I'm more then welcome to borrow the console from him.

I'll keep you updated with my impressions from the game...

OK...I've just completed Episode 1 of Alan Wake (out of 6 Episodes) and my impression from the game so far: IT'S AWESOME!

Graphics is GREAT, Storyline even better, great atmosphere and scary moments.

Since it's the first time I'm gaming on XBOX 360 console, it took me some time to get used to the GamePad, but I must admit that I'm quite impressed with the performance of the XBOX 360.

I'm used to PC games and just now I realized that a 3 years old console offers (almost) the same gaming performance as my high-end gaming rig.

And of course, it's great to play on my 42" LCD screen in my living room, with a full surround coming from my Yamaha Receiver and JBL speakers.

The only problem in gaming on the TV is that I'm taking control of the main TV at home and also I cannot play loud when my baby is asleep...

Anyway...GREAT game, maybe not the best, but still a very good one.

Have to go now...going to start Episode 2.

I have a xbox 360 elite and am having a hell of a time getting the case open. Have the top, bottom and front plates off but the case doesn't want to unlatch on the back. Trying to open it up to attempt to fix the DVD drive. I want to play fable 3
