I played it from the time I installed it until last night with only a couple hours break thrown in there to take Mom to town to get groceries.
It's freaking awesome and I've barely scratched the main quest.New rig.

I've decided that before I go do anymore of the main quest I want Daedric or Dragon armor.

Just saw one review and it looked like a good game. Just wondering, what do you guys who enjoy it thought of Oblivion? Because I could never really get into that game.
Anyway, this is definitely on my "must buy sometime in the next 20 years" game list. I mean, once I have more time to play games.Last edited by ET3D; 11-13-2011 at 01:52 PM.

It just pretty much a refined Oblivion with a weather system, more modern impressive world, and extra things to do. I really don't believe it when they say the engine is brand new ground up.

This game is fantastic! BUT, I'm innundated in bugs. My magic staffs keep bugging out on me and hit the same spot over and over again....

Well just like Morrowind before it, Oblivion is very much awesome in its own way. Thing of it is, the only reason some like Skyrim more than Oblivion is just because of little things refined. They are both essentially the same game with different personalities. Oh yea, dragons help too.

Skyrim is amazing but I feel like I'm running into every possible bug there could be. Might try to re-install tomorrow. Does anyone know where the save files are located?

I played Arena and Daggerfall a lot. I have Morrowind, but the combat frustrated me too much and I left early. I was also becoming less hard core, and felt that haggling for hour (which I did in Daggerfall) was a waste of time. I played some Oblivion (though it wasn't my copy) and I'm now remembering that the combat system also annoyed me. I hit someone I was supposed to help by mistake and he turned to an enemy, or something like that, and I just couldn't continue that. I also think I broke into a house by mistake. It was just too easy to be considered a villain just because the interface made it easy to make mistakes.

Unfortunately that is a problem with all TES games, but in Skyrim it is WAY better. In Oblivion you could simply hold block and there was a 50/50 chance the person who went enemy on you would go back to normal. Also in Oblivion there are a few mods that ease up the guards so they can't catch you stealing something from the next town (exaggerated, but you get the point). In Skyrim a person you are with will warn you quite a few times from simple mistakes because they do get in the way a lot. I tend to not shoot people in towns so can't comment on that.

This is the first time I've ever played an Elderscrolls game on it's release. Normally, I play with a ton of mods that get rid of most of the complaints present in the original version. Skyrim by itself is already a pretty awesome game. i can't wait for the mod community to get it's hands on it though.
