Thanks for the mention of mods. When I next install Morrowind or if I buy Oblivion (which might happen when it drops to $5 on Steam) I will have to remember to check out the mods and install some of them. I saw that there are quite a few which make the games look better and solve various problems.
Speaking of buying an RPG, currently I'm most tempted by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It's recently dropped in price and it's a classic Wii game I never played. I might resist temptation though because I don't play on the Wii these days (and very little on the PC).

I still have yet to see a dragon!
Although I got turned into a vampire and unfortunately did the full transformation before I could figure out how to revert it and now every person is out to kill me !New rig.

Wow, you're right. There are already a ton of mods. I'm going to grab the texture pack as that was one of the most disappointing things.

As a direct port from the consoles that is to be expected with the vanilla version. I suggest grabbing the face and body sharpening mods, the alpha texture mod pack, the blood enhancer and the FXAA image sharpen installer. With those, my game looks ridiculously better than when I first started playing.
Here is an example of Dragonsreach all settings maxed, 8xAA and 8xAA Transparency @ 1920x1200.

Important, anybody with the Esbern glitches please read this.
Use a BSA Extractor and extract the extravoices to the data folder. It will solve the voice glitch and you can continue the main quest after the negotiations.Last edited by PP Mguire; 11-15-2011 at 01:49 AM.

For those who can't get the extractor to work use this instead. Simply place the sound folder in the Skyrim data folder.

Well I started a new game cause I couldn't get the damned curse lifted.
I tried the Blessing of Talos which is supposed to cure it and it didn't.
I tried going to a town way up north with a guy who's studying vampires and the townspeople started attacking before I even set foot inside so I couldn't even start to talk to him.
I couldn't find a console cheat either to get rid of it but I may do some more searching.
One thing I do miss from Oblivion is the way it would detect who was good and who was bad towards you when you got up close to them but before they detected you.
Also it would have been nice to adjust our stats like intelligence and perception like we could in the character creator in Oblivion.New rig.

Exactly the kind of thing that would put me off the game. Why do they make it so easy to make enemies?

It is actually quite hard to piss some one off in this game because of the way Oblivion handled AI.

I'm tempted to buy Oblivion, which is on sale on Steam for $4.99. While I played some of it and was a little annoyed by it, and while I'm unlikely to play it to any extent, given my current ratio of games / play time, it's still the kind of game that needs owning.
