getting CD's to autorun in XPx64
this feature seems to be compleatly disabled. I can't find any info on it and I hate haveing to open cd'as and click on autorun.exe...

Sorry about the thread necromancy: if this has not already been solved perhaps this will help.
Autorun was disabled as a default action by a Mircosoft Security Update back in 2010/2009. You should be able to go into device manager and reenable it, but if not it may have gotten into the group policy. I upgraded to Win7 some time ago so I don't really remember how to reenable it.

Thanks for the reply. I should have updated this long ago. I found the fix on the MS site, and the "fix it for me" button. as well as finding the registry settings for it.
