    Default 9800gx2 questions

    first. what temps should this be getting stock clocks and running 100% with fan at 100%
    second. what clocks are "safe" for this card. more interested in folding than gaming.
    third. is this behemoth going to damage my M/B due to it's wieght? I could kill someone with this thing...

    First I'm going to guess load should be around the 80s. Second Scott would have to fill you in on as I've never personally owned one. Third it'll be fine long as you use both screws.

    I agree with PP, temps should hover in the 80 ish range full load, and the weight of the card be ok. I ran the 295 card from Nvidia with a water block and no problems as far as weight installed in a chassis and hooked up.

    got a chance to ask scott and he said mid 80's are fine on this card. anything over 105 panic.

    wow my 560Ti must run really cool it maxes out at 50 when folding

    the gx2 is apparently rated up to 105C, which seems rediculously high to me.

    most of these dual GPU cards can get quite hot if there is not enough case ventilation. The new nvidia cards can go as high as 100C based on teh spec sheet. Personally, I prefer to keep the GPU temp around 85~90C or below at most. Of course, cooler is better.

    I've tried a little bit but couldn't get it stable past 925 core @ 1.05 volts haven't really had time to mess around too much
