Except there's no tracks with the heavy sepia tones DiRT 2 had. Also there's weather effects, both snow and rain, and night races too, so it definitely has a different look. The cars seem to be a bit more detailed too. The rally races with light rain where you see the water drops on the cars looks incredibly realistic.

Ah that sounds nifty. I watched only the modded lighting video and just that small video made me think it looked basically the same.

Just another heads up, one person on the DiRT 3 forum found a screenshot of the Shibuya track in Japan from DiRT 2 in the game's PSSG files, along with several Shibuya track layout diagrams and some ambient sounds.

It's said there's DLC content forthcoming, perhaps this other venue will be included. Either that or it was originally planned for the stock game then cut.
