    Default I hate spring storms

I have lost 2 DSL modems in a week. I generally always have a spare modem on hand, but 2 dying in one week has left me surfing only a work until I get a replacement modem. I am just glad that my wife has a cell modem that she can use while we are down, or I would really be in the dog house (so to say).

p.s. both of these were on a surge protector for power. The surge came in on the phone line, but did not kill any of our phones.

Just curious, but why would you be in the dog house for something that isn't your fault?

Because computers is a guy thing for the most part. There fore if they would like to use the computer and it is not functional to their standards it would be our fault. Not the retarded AT&T guy that they send out that knows absolutely nothing about what hes is doing or how to fix anything. Nope our fault. Getting the picture. (Did I mention AT&T has extremely bad service and monkeys could do a much better job.)

My wife lives on her computer. She doesn't have a true paying job, but she volunteers with several differant organizations and does a lot of work for them from our home. She is also part of our local city government (City Council) and is the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator. Both of those require her to have internet access and is currently working on more online FEMA courses to stay current.

Quite understandable, but I still don't see how it would technically be your fault. Follow?

because he's the in house IT guy. it's his respnosiblity to make sure she can get online no matter what. if the gates of hell open up under the local ISP, he better damn well go close them, and throw an extra pad lock on them to make sure it doesnt happen again!!!..... how can you not know this? oh wait, you haven't been to the other side of the honeymoon yet...
